Steven E. Hutchins Architects, Inc. has been recognized for excellent work in affordable housing, historic restoration, single family, civic facilities, and mixed use projects. At the same time project diversity has continued with successful projects completed in land planning, hospitality, religious, industrial, and public projects for nine different government agencies. Over twenty times the firm has received such recognition including Design Awards for AIA Florida/Caribbean and AIA Jacksonville, and publication in Florida International, Florida Design and Florida/Caribbean Architect Magazine and the City of Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission Award, 2005. Kirkegade Hus Condominiums in downtown Christiansted won the 1992 American Institute of Architects Award for Multi-Family Design and Lovenlund Apartments received a national award for affordable housing.
The general philosophy of the firm is to pursue projects with an inclination toward exclusivity and to place extra emphasis on the design phase of our projects while maintaining the highest standard of competence in the technical and administrative areas. A particular area of emphasis has been our long standing commitment to environmentally sensitive design. As a LEED Accredited Professional, firm President, Steven E. Hutchins directs all projects to have this emphasis. The key to our success is our team of professionals and the coordinated integration of the wealth of talent they have. Staff members hail from India, Singapore, Philippines, Virgin Islands, and the United States. All staff members have extensive experience with Hospitality and Housing. Staff includes membership with NCARB, AIA, ASID, and the U.S. Green Building Council with two staff members being LEED Accredited Professionals.
